Sony AIT-1 40GB/104GB Turbo Backup Tape (Retail Packaging)

After the success of AIT-1 20GB/52GB turbo tape, Sony increased the capacity to 40GB/104GB and introduced this durable tape cartridge featuring the part number TAIT1-40C. This media tape also belongs to AIT-1 turbo family. For longer tape life, Sony has coated the base film with an extremely durable carbon coating called DLC (Diamond Like Carbon). The data processing speed is also very fast, reaching up to 6Mbps (native rate). A memory chip also has been included to store the operational information and directory. Therefore, the drive can quickly access data from this Sony AIT-1 turbo tape and improve the operational efficiency.
